Barbados continues to reinforce its reputation as a jurisdiction of choice for high-net-worth individuals, families and globally mobile businesses seeking a sophisticated, well-regulated base for their global affairs.
In this context, Invest Barbados recently hosted two targeted Breakfast Panel discussions in London, England and Dublin, Ireland, bringing together leading advisers to examine how Barbados can effectively support personal, family and corporate planning strategies as part of its ongoing engagement in key international markets.
The London discussion focused on Barbados’ regulatory framework, tax environment and residency options, as well as how these pillars support effective international structuring.
Panellists explored key issues including tax residence, residency options, property ownership and trusts. The session featured insights from Wayne Fields, President, DGM Financial Group; Ed Powles, Partner, Maurice Turnor Gardner; and Imran Ali, Tax Director, Prudentia Tax. The exchange highlighted Barbados’ stable, transparent and well-regulated environment and its continued appeal to individuals and families seeking certainty and long-term planning solutions.
Building on this engagement, the Dublin session examined how Barbados can feature in the personal, family and corporate planning of internationally mobile individuals and businesses.
H.E. Cleviston Haynes, Barbados’ Ambassador to Ireland, delivered remarks, underscoring Barbados’ commitment to strong global partnerships and a favourable business climate. Ambassador Haynes noted, “Like Ireland, Barbados is an attractive place to do business. Barbados is committed to creating and maintaining a favourable business climate, as well as providing a supportive, dynamic environment for foreign direct investment. Our adherence to international standards ensures that those seeking to relocate and/or conduct business in Barbados can operate with confidence.”
The Dublin panel addressed tax residency, long-term immigration planning, property ownership in Barbados and the use of the jurisdiction’s corporate structures to support international operations. Speakers included Wayne Fields, President, DGM Financial Group; Justin Cole, Vice President, DGM Financial; and Dustin Delany, Chair and Chief Managing Partner, Barbados, Dentons.
Both events were expertly moderated by Julia Hope, Consultant, Invest Barbados and guided by Master of Ceremonies Shane Thomas, Investment Executive, Invest Barbados. Together, the London and Dublin sessions provided practical, expert-led perspectives on how Barbados can support robust global planning strategies, further strengthening its position as a trusted and forward-looking jurisdiction for international clients.
