The AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2025 will be held from July 28-29, at the Radisson Conference Centre in St. George’s, Grenada.

Now in its fourth iteration, the annual event will be hosted by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Government of Grenada under the theme, Resilience and Transformation – Enhancing the Africa-Caribbean Economic Cooperation in an Era of Global Uncertainty.

The two-day event, which brings together thought leaders from several countries including Africa and the Caribbean, is designed to champion increased trade and investment, forge strong partnerships, as well as identify new markets and opportunities, while facilitating trade and market information exchange between Africa and the Caribbean.

The focus areas for ACTIF 2025 will include: charting a unified free trade area; strengthening the Africa-Caribbean Business Council; stimulating the creative economy and opening up the skies and oceans.

Invest Barbados will be participating in this year’s event, with Barbados having hosted the inaugural ACTIF in 2022. Subsequent to that event, Barbados was the first CARICOM member to ratify the Partnership Agreement with Afreximbank. The Bank’s Board of Directors approved a US$1.5 billion credit limit to support eligible CARICOM states, with a commitment to increase this to US$3 billion. Currently, 12 of the 15 CARICOM members states have acceded to the Partnership Agreement, nine of whom have concluded their ratification.

Afreximbank officially opened its first Caribbean regional office in Barbados in August 2023. In March 2025, the Bank cemented its intention to remain in Barbados, by hosting a groundbreaking ceremony with plans to construct its permanent Caribbean headquarters and trade centre.
