WEBSITE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND LAUNCH
- Summary
Barbados Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BPI) is a state-owned enterprise established to advance the development of Barbados’ pharmaceutical and life sciences sector, positioning the country as a regional hub for innovation, manufacturing, and regulatory excellence within the CARICOM region.
To support this mandate, BPI invites proposals from qualified web development firms to design, develop, and deploy a modern, responsive, and content-driven website that reflects BPI’s leadership in pharmaceutical strategy, innovation, and regional collaboration.
The website should draw design inspiration from Pivotal Ventures, Gates Foundation, ONE Campaign, Global Citizen, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (US Websites); organizations recognized for clear visual storytelling, clean design, and intuitive user experience.
Proposals should address:
- Creative concept and design direction
- Site architecture and UX layout
- Technical development and CMS
- Hosting and maintenance
- SEO and accessibility compliance
- Multilingual functionality
- Integration with social media and analytics
- Content strategy recommendations
- Team credentials and experience
- Project timeline and cost breakdown
- Design Overview
The BPI website must:
- Reflect a professional, innovative, and trustworthy identity aligned with Barbados’ national pharmaceutical strategy.
- Highlight key landing pages – About Us | Mission | Our Story, Ecosystem Enabling, Partnerships & Collaborations, Ongoing Projects, Key Developments | Media Moments
- Showcase BPI’s strategic pillars: Human Capital Development, Market Access and Shaping, Research & Development, Innovation & Technology, Stimulus & Project Financing, Regulatory & Policy Enablers
- Incorporate BPI’s logo and brand palette.
- Feature clear pathways for investors, regulators, researchers, partners and links to our socials (LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Comply with international data privacy standards (GDPR and CARICOM Data Protection).
- Design Process
Vendors will work collaboratively with BPI’s leadership and strategy team.
Deliverables should include:
- Design mockups and prototypes
- UX testing sessions
- CMS training for internal staff
- Final approval and transfer of design ownership
- Key Functional Requirements
- Responsive design: optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Content Management System (CMS): secure, user-friendly, easily updated
- Analytics dashboard: for traffic and engagement insights
- Event and registration features (free and paid)
- Multilingual translation: English, Spanish, French
- Search and accessibility features
- SEO optimization and metadata integration
- Social media integration: LinkedIn, YouTube, X (Twitter), and others
- Investor and media resources library
- Hosting and maintenance support
- Draft Website Map
The website could have the following mapping however proposals should not limit themselves to this. We are looking for creative and strong U/X appeal, so proposers should feel free to propose a different map.

Preferred timeline: Project completion within 4–6 weeks of award.
