Invest Barbados is the proud recipient of the Investment Promotion for Financial Services Award, which was announced at the Rhode Island Go Global Awards Ceremony, held recently in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
Competing in the Government Agency category, Invest Barbados was one of three Caribbean investment promotion agencies that captured awards this year.
Hosted this year by the International Trade Centre and the Rhode Island Committee Corporation, the Go Global Awards Programme is an annual conference designed to unite business leaders, government officials and industry organisations worldwide. The programme is open to all businesses, regardless of size, that offer innovative, export-ready products or services, which have achieved significant successes, or market penetration in one or more international markets, or those that have garnered substantial investor and/or media interest.
Gaining a Certificate of Recognition in addition to a physical award, Invest Barbados was commended for its “unwavering commitment, dedication and outstanding contributions to economic development”, setting a benchmark for excellence in the global arena.
Chief Executive Officer of Invest Barbados, Kaye Greenidge, expressed sincere thanks to the organisers of the Go Global Programme, noting that this achievement aligns with Invest Barbados’ mandate to position the country as a reputable financial centre of choice.
Each year, the Go Global Awards attracts approximately 50 domestic and foreign government economic development agencies, as well as 400 companies to its final event round.
