One of Barbados’ international business companies, Doyle Offshore Sails, was praised recently by Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Hon. Donville Inniss for being a “very unique company” and a gold standard for Barbadian companies to follow.
According to Minister Inniss, the 30-year old local sail-making company, which recently celebrated its move into new facilities in Six Roads, St. Philip, is an export-driven organisation, generating nearly US$2 million in foreign exchange each year.
“Doyle Offshore Sails is a very unique company. Not just a unique product, but certainly the manifestation of the skills and the citizenship of those who put this all together. You’re a shining example of where Barbados needs to go,” the Minister said.
General Manager of the company, Dana Seymour said he was excited to move into the new building and also about the new ideas the company had for the facility and further production of sails.
Doyle Caribbean is the sail maker of choice for hardworking charter boats and intrepid cruisers. They also provide a range of high quality canvas products for boats. The company currently has operations in the British Virgin Islands and Barbados, with affiliates stretching from Puerto Rico to Panama.
