Expo 2020 Dubai, which was originally slated to open on October 1, 2020, has now been postponed until one year later and will now run from October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022.
The postponement of the World Expo, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates, is due to the current global coronavirus pandemic. This however, creates an opportunity for organisers of the World Expo to refocus and come together as one to deliver an even more spectacular event.
The decision taken by the Bureau International des Exposition’s Executive Committee to postpone the event has been met with support by several international and regional organisations, given the impact of the global health crisis.
The Expo will be the first ever of its kind to be held in the Arab region and is expected to attract 190 participating countries and millions of visitors globally. The event, which focuses on the three themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, will feature a celebration of culture, collaboration and innovation with an aim of leaving a meaningful and lasting legacy across the globe.
Invest Barbados, together with other strategic partners, will be participating at this event, and looks forward to showcasing all that the country has to offer in relation to the jurisdiction’s suite of trade and investment opportunities.
