Barbados continues to expand its global relations and treaty network, as it recently signed an income tax treaty with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 24, 2014.
The treaty was signed by Barbados’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator the Honourable Maxine McClean and UAE’s Minister of State Reem Ibrahim al-Hashimi.
This is the first income tax treaty concluded between the two countries. It will enter into force after the parties exchange ratification instruments.
As part of its extensive and expanding treaty network, Barbados currently has 34 Double Taxation Agreements in force and 11 signed Bilateral Investment Treaties, nine of which have been entered into force.
