Australia has been added to the list of countries represented by an Honorary Consul in Barbados.

In an official ceremony on Tuesday, August 16, Barbados’ Chief of Protocol, Hughland Allman, presented an exequatur to Stuart James Gardiner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Culloden Road, St. Michael.

The legal document will permit Mr. Gardiner to commence his duties as Honorary Consul, thus strengthening the existing ties between Australia and Barbados.

The Honorary Consul for Australia, who has been residing in Barbados for the past 16 years, said he looked forward to serving as his country’s representative in Barbados.

The Australian Consulate will be located on the 2nd Floor, Cedar Court, Wildey Business Park, Wildey, St. Michael and may be contacted at telephone number 246-434-1133.

Barbados and Australia established diplomatic ties in January 1974.
